Rugby Star Bundee Aki Reveals Birth of Daughter

(MENAFN) Following the conclusion of the British and Irish Lions’ final Test clash against Australia in Sydney, a jubilant Bundee Aki was energetically discussing various subjects.

Among the topics were how the Lions’ series victory stood as the "greatest achievement" in his professional life, the deep camaraderie formed among teammates, and his desire to see Andy Farrell return as Lions head coach in 2029.

Then, almost as an aside, he revealed something remarkable—his wife Kayla had given birth to their fifth child in a car while heading to a hospital just before the opening Test match.

When questioned about his immediate plans, the Ireland midfielder, who was born in New Zealand, answered: "I want to enjoy my break, my family time.

"I haven't seen my family for eight weeks. I have a newborn child who I haven't met yet."
Come again?

"Yep, a girl. She was born when we were playing in Brisbane, so I haven't met her. Her name is Aine, so I'm looking forward to going and meeting her," he added.
Excuse me?

"Credit to my wife," he continued.

Indeed, significant recognition goes to Kayla, who has now delivered their fifth baby.

Their first child was born in a hospital, the next three arrived at home, and baby Aine came into the world in the back of a vehicle en route to a medical facility in New Zealand.

The rest of the Aki family had been visiting relatives there, while Bundee was with the Lions ahead of their opening game in Brisbane.
